Talbot Islands
With more than five miles of beautiful, white sandy beaches, Little Talbot Island is an excellent place to make your base camp while you explore a coastline rich in history and culture.
We welcome you to visit all six of the Florida State Parks and other interesting destinations that collectively comprise Talbot Islands State Parks: Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park, Amelia Island State Park, Fort George Island Cultural State Park, Yellow Bluff Fort Historic State Park, Little Talbot Island State Park, Big Talbot Island State Park and George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier State Park.
Anastasia State Park
With more than four miles of beautiful, white sandy beaches, Anastasia State Park is an excellent place to establish your base camp while you explore this spectacular coastline, rich in history and culture. Enjoy at least a whole day (if not longer) in the park itself. Stroll the pristine beach, explore the estuarine tidal marsh teeming with plant and animal life, or hike the self-guided nature trail, which takes you through the maritime hammock and out to ancient sand dunes.
Known as South Beach to locals and acquired by the state of Florida in 1949, Anastasia State Park is located near historic St. Augustine on Anastasia Island.
Palatka and Dunn's Creek State Park
Nestled along the St. Johns River, the small, charming town of Palatka is part of the Florida Mural Trail. Coasting along its slow-paced streets on foot, by bike or car to view murals and historic architecture is worthwhile.
Palatka is also the home of Ravine Gardens State Park, named for a pair of steep ravines that plunge 120 feet deep. Unlike common gullies or sinkholes caused by temporary flooding, these steephead ravines are created as underground water bubbles up and cuts into the bank, carrying sand and soil downstream over thousands of years to the St. Johns River.
