The Florida Park Service is proud to announce the winners of the 2020 Volunteer Recognition Awards. Volunteers are an integral part of our workforce. They contribute time, energy and skills to park management and visitor experiences.

Florida State Parks Director Eric Draper says that “People Make the Parks” is his favorite slogan. Of course, he’s referring to park staff, partners, visitors and volunteers.

Recently, park volunteers received new uniforms. Now, clad in green, they add so much to visitor services, interpretation, maintenance and resource protection.

This year’s event was especially meaningful. It’s not often that we can all come together as a service to celebrate. And together, over the past 12 months, we have done an amazing job of keeping people healthy and safe while delivering award-winning park experiences to millions of people.

This year, our recognition ceremony was held virtually. That experience does not diminish our heartfelt appreciation for their many hours of work to accomplish our goals.

To all our volunteers, we say “Thank You” for an amazing job well-done in 2020.
