Birding

The Eureka West Recreation Area is located along the western shoreline of the Ocklawaha River.

Numerous wading bird species are seen in this area of the greenway.

Boating

Eureka West provides boating access to the Ocklawaha River and Rodman Reservoir.

Fishing

Freshwater fishing in the Ocklawaha River and Rodman Reservoir is accessible at Eureka West. An accessible floating fishing platform for non-boaters is available here as well.

All fishing within the park must conform to regulations concerning size, number, method of capture and season.
A fishing license may be required. More information is available at the Florida Wildlife Commission’s Fishing in Florida.

Picnicking

An accessible picnic pavilion is located at the upper parking area at Eureka West.

Wildlife Viewing

Numerous species of wading birds, alligators, river otter and other wildlife are viewable at Eureka West.

Accessible Amenities

The Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway is committed to providing a variety of amenities accessible to visitors. These amenities include:

Accessible picnic pavilion.
Accessible parking.
Accessible boat ramp.
Accessible fishing platform.

Service animals are welcome in all areas of the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway.

Boat Ramp

A boat ramp with a fixed dock is located at Eureka West to launch and provide access to the Ocklawaha River upstream (south) or to the Rodman Reservoir (north).

Parking

Paved accessible parking is available at the lower boat ramp parking area. Hardened parking is also available just up the hill from the boat ramp. Accessible parking is located adjacent to the picnic pavilion, and stabilized parking is available at the floating fishing platform.

Pets

Pets are welcome at Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway. All pets must be on a hand-held, 6-foot leash at all times. Pets may not be left unattended.

Pet owners must pick up after their pets and properly dispose of all pet droppings in trash receptacles.
Service animals are allowed in all areas of the park.
