Morgen Coe, Park Ranger
Ranger Morgen is a vital part of the Oscar Scherer team.
Morgen Coe is a local resident whose passion for the outdoors shines both at home and in Florida’s state parks. As a park ranger at Oscar Scherer State Park, Morgen blends his background in teaching with a deep love for nature and conservation.
After graduating from college, Morgen began his career as a teacher. His love for educating others is still a big part of his work, especially when leading interpretive programs on the trails. A passionate birder, Morgen’s favorite bird is the graceful Swallow-tailed Kite, often seen soaring above the park.
To further explore Florida’s natural world, Morgen joined AmeriCorps, where he focused on biodiversity and sustainable practices for invasive plant management. That experience helped shape a new career—one that combines his love for nature, education and meaningful outdoor work.
At home, Morgen lives on an urban farm homestead where he raises chickens, grows butterfly-friendly plants and maintains walking trails. His lifestyle reflects his values of sustainability and stewardship.
Ranger Morgen frequently hosts workdays at Oscar Scherer and welcomes volunteers who want to make a difference in Florida’s natural spaces. If you're interested in volunteering, please contact the park for more information.
Ranger Morgen is a vital part of the Oscar Scherer team, and we’re proud to spotlight his dedication, energy and love for Florida’s great outdoors.
