Volunteer Spotlight, Nancy Guzman
Nancy Guzman
Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail
Growing up in Perry, Florida, Nancy Guzman always had a love of the outdoors. Now as a volunteer at the Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail, she continues to enjoy the fresh air, birds and sounds of nature that can be found all along this scenic trail.
Nancy now lives in Woodville, where she can see part of the bike path from her front yard. She was inspired to volunteer to help keep the bike path clean and beautiful for both her community and for visitors to enjoy year-round. She also provides valued service anywhere else she is needed along the trail, including pressure cleaning the playground, painting the bathrooms and maintaining the picnic pavilions.
Along with the bike path, another one of Nancy’s favorite areas of the trail is the southern trailhead in St. Marks. Here she often can be found at San Marcos De Apalache Historic State Park, where she tours the fort and sits by the water to watch boats travel up and down the Wakulla River. Springtime is a personal favorite for Nancy on the trail as she loves to see the flowers bloom each year and add an extra layer of beauty to the surrounding landscape.
Nancy hopes to continue her volunteer work at the Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail for years to come. We are extremely honored to have her as a volunteer!
