Park Ranger, Samuel Louzan

Lake Louisa State Park

Sam is from Clermont and has been a park ranger at Lake Louisa since 2019 and he loves being a part of the Lake Louisa team.

He wanted to be a ranger because he thinks it’s important to learn about and protect Florida’s natural ecosystems and wildlife. Sam also wants to inspire visitors to love and appreciate the outdoors.

His duties are very diverse and run the gamut from general park maintenance to habitat restoration. His favorite part of his job is being able to inform visitors of all they miss in their daily lives in the city. Being able to talk about wildlife, the environment, as well as the history of the area brings him joy knowing he was able to give visitors a little something.

Sam's favorite spot in the park to sit and enjoy nature is the Pine Point Bridge. What he loves about this spot is that Big Creek runs below his feet, the cypress and pine trees create a wall that let his eyes effortlessly gaze into the whirling pockets of the creek. He hopes visitors stop by and enjoy this mesmerizing spot with their own eyes.
