As Florida’s largest urban park, the 1,043 acre Oleta River State Park is celebrated as a tranquil and welcome refuge from the bustling life of the city that surrounds it. Those weary from the stress of the city can recuperate in one of the picnic areas or unwind at the end of a fishing pole. For the more active, you can bike on 15 miles of trails or take a kayak down the short, but peaceful Oleta River.

Whether riding the waves, strolling the shores or fishing from the jetties, Sebastian Inlet State Park is a beach lover’s paradise. Calmer waters on the Indian River Lagoon beckon kayakers to explore wild beauty.

Stretching 20 miles into the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, St. Joseph Peninsula is a true wildlife haven. Its powdery beaches and bayside salt marshes are nesting grounds for sea turtles, shore birds and the endangered St. Andrews beach mouse.
