Designated as a National Recreation Trail, running through the Green Swamp and the headwaters for some of Florida's most popular paddling destinations including the Withlacoochee, Hillsborough and Peace rivers.

Through the early 1900s, this historic railroad corridor carried cotton from the plantation belt to the coast for shipment to textile mills in England and New England. The trail runs 16 miles from Florida's capital city to the coastal community of St. Marks.

Situated just south of one of the historic sea-level Cross Florida Ship Canal diggings, Shangri La provides optimal access and overnight opportunities to explore the network of well-marked trails.
