Gardens
Gardens

Take a stroll and find yourself swept away into periods long since forgotten. On one path, visitors will find the Orman House Historic State Park, featuring the 1838 antebellum home of Thomas Orman. Just across the street, visitors can discover Northwest Florida's natural flora at Chapman Botanical Garden, built in honor of Dr. Alvan Chapman, a prominent Southern botanist and 1800s resident of Apalachicola.

Time stands still in the garden, where visitors can find solitude to read a book, start a new painting or watch the butterflies in the butterfly garden. Sidewalks connect from the parking lots and wind in and around the gardens.
