The Fountain of Youth Eco/Heritage tour aboard the M/V Acuera, departing four times daily, is a 50 minute trip through De Leon Springs State Park and Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge. After finding a comfortable seat, the Acuera will ease away from the dock to begin telling the tale of these "healing waters," named by the Mayaca Indians. Much of the story will unfold before your eyes as osprey swoop down to pluck a fish for a meal and alligators warm themselves in the sun. As we explore nature, we will also talk about the area's 6,000 years of history and some myths. Was Ponce de Leon really here? Whatever your interest, your are sure to enjoy your time with us. Piloted by Captain Frank, the M/V Acuera is a U.S. Coast Guard-inspected pontoon boat with all the necessary equipment for your safety and comfort. The boat is wheelchair accessible with parking nearby.
Additional times are available by special arrangement.
Tickets are $14 plus tax, children under 4 are free, and a minimum of 8 passengers is required for a trip. Please remember that tour prices do not include the park entry fee and that tours are subject to the desires of Mother Nature.
