Staff Spotlight, Sean Lenick

Congratulations to Park Ranger Sean Lenick for joining Florida State Park’s Vanguards Igniting Pyric Ecosystems for Restoration (VIPER) team! VIPER is a specialized team of wildland firefighters within the Florida Park Service. Sean travels around the state with the VIPER team to conduct prescribed burns and control wildfires. Natural resource management is Sean’s focus within the Florida Park Service.
Sean shown his skills and passion for natural resource management not only in wildland fire fighting, but also through managing natural resources at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park. Sean supports the park through removing invasive plants which, in turn, allows the native vegetation to flourish.
With his efforts to protect the park and natural areas throughout the state, it is perfectly fitting that he received Park Ranger of the Month for May 2025 in District 4. A round of applause for Park Ranger Sean Lenick!
Sean is a Florida native who grew up in the Naples area. He spent time traveling to the natural areas of Florida and was a part of the Boy Scout community. Being outdoors in the natural world is what fuels Sean’s passions. He joined the Florida Park Service as a career change to make a difference in the community and give back to natural areas that bring him joy. Sean has been a Park Ranger at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park for three years.
Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park holds a special place in Sean’s heart from childhood memories of family beach days and wildlife viewing from the observation tower that once stood as a park staple. Now, as a Park Ranger, he helps park visitors have similar experiences by protecting the park’s natural and cultural resources. Stay tuned to see what Park Ranger Sean Lenick accomplishes next!
