Lisa Jones, Toll Collector
One of Lisa’s favorite things about the park is the involvement with the public in interpretation and education.
Growing up in Atlantic Canada, Lisa spent many hours outdoors immersing herself in nature. Some of her favorite activities were climbing trees, riding her bike, digging for clams, swimming in the river behind her house, snowshoeing, sledding and skating. Lisa and her husband fell in love with Florida during a visit in 1994 and soon thereafter moved their family down and have been enjoying the sun and sand ever since.
Lisa’s love for the interactive, ever-changing force of nature segways perfectly into her role as Visitor Services Specialist at Gamble Rogers. As a first point of contact for park visitors and campers, Lisa’s beautiful smile and pleasant, friendly attitude provides the perfect welcome in the busy, sometimes hectic Ranger Station. She loves interacting with the guests and hearing about their adventures in nature.
One of Lisa’s favorite things about the park is the involvement with the public in interpretation and education. She believes we must never lose our appreciation for our natural surroundings nor take it for granted. Lisa is in her “happy place” at the park and we are thrilled to have her on our team.
