Growing up in northwest New Jersey, Fran dreamed of working for the park service. Although his career path initially took a different turn, leading him to a long and successful tenure with the Department of Labor, his passion for the outdoors never dimmed.
Nature has always been Fran’s refuge. Whether it was visiting family in Florida, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting or paddling on a quiet canoe trip, immersing himself in the natural world continually renews him. His deep appreciation for wild places, paired with his strong belief in the mission of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, ultimately brought him full circle. After retiring, Fran fulfilled his childhood dream by joining the Florida Park Service as a Visitor Services Specialist.
Today, Fran thrives in his role at the Ranger Station, where his enthusiasm and warmth leave a lasting impression on visitors. He takes pride in helping guests make the most of their time in the park and enjoys meeting people from across the country and around the world who come to experience its beauty.
