Staff Spotlight, Bill Barrett

Park ranger Bill Barrett

Park Ranger Bill Barrett grew up in a small town in northeast Pennsylvania but lived in Arizona for 20 years and northern Virginia for two years. Bill and his wife moved to Palm Coast, Florida, in 2018 for the great climate and to be close to the beach.

Bill has always enjoyed being outdoors in nature, whether it be hunting, fishing, doing yard work or riding his motorcycle. Having worked most of his life indoors at manufacturing facilities, he wanted to finish his career working outdoors near the beach.

Bill mainly works the late field shift helping keep the park clean and then closing at the end of the day. Bill says his favorite thing is seeing “the best sunsets in the world” when he closes the park. He is always willing to learn something new and help wherever he can.

Bill’s favorite part about his position as a park ranger is working “with an awesome group of dedicated people that have a passion for what they do.”

Bill enjoys all the seasons here in Florida and encourages everyone to get outside and enjoy all that Florida has to offer!
