Staff Spotlight, Amy Brosch

Amy Brosch, Park Ranger
From an early age, Amy developed a deep connection to nature.
Amy Brosch, Park Ranger at Curry Hammock State Park, was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She earned a double major in Environmental Studies and Art History from Florida State University and later completed a master’s degree in Art History at an international university in London.
From an early age, Amy developed a deep connection to nature. Her parents frequently took her and her sister camping and hiking across the southeastern United States, where her love for the outdoors began to flourish. She spent most of her free time outside—so much so that her parents often had to call her in at the end of the day. A major influence in her early life was her elementary school science teacher, Pat Knox, who sparked Amy’s lifelong fascination with wildlife. As a child, she often helped rescue birds, alligators and other animals, showing early signs of her passion for environmental stewardship.
Amy began her career with the Florida Park Service on Earth Day 2022 as an OPS (Other Personal Services) staff member in resource management at Lake Manatee State Park. After eight months, she transitioned to a full-time Park Ranger role at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, where she eagerly embraced the opportunity to take on a wider range of responsibilities and deepen her skills.
In April 2025, Amy joined the team at Curry Hammock State Park in the Florida Keys. She has embraced the unique lifestyle of the Keys, enjoying the relaxed pace, close-knit community, and the park's stunning natural beauty. Whether she's kayaking, watching spectacular sunrises and sunsets, or exploring local ecosystems, Amy finds inspiration and purpose in her daily work.
Visitors often encounter Amy out in the park—sharing her knowledge with guests, supporting her colleagues, and engaging with the natural environment she loves. Her enthusiasm, experience and dedication to conservation make her a valued member of both Curry Hammock and the larger Florida State Parks team.
