Barbara Roberts, Park Manager
Weeki Wachee has been an attraction for 71 years and this is the park’s 10th year in the Florida Park Service!
We currently have several park improvements taking place so please pay attention to our important notices related to dates, what activities are available for visitors and current prices. Buccaneer Bay is open and ready for you to take a swim!
Due to scheduled renovations to the underwater theater, the mermaids will NOT be performing until June 15, 2019. We also have a sidewalk and bridge replacement project ongoing, so the river boat ride and wildlife program are also closed and scheduled to reopen June 15. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we improve our guest experience.
Our first magnitude spring is a wonderful natural resource that provides the clear waters that feed the Weeki Wachee River and the Buccaneer Bay swimming area at the park. When daily mermaid shows are taking place, they are fun for everyone and the boat ride on the river is nice and informative. Be sure to check our social media sites and our concessionaires website for additional information about the park.
Our concession, Guest Services, manages our kayak operation, food services and gift shop. Once the attraction side of the park reopens in June you can visit the Gift Locker to see some of the Florida and mermaid-themed merchandise and souvenirs. Reservations are required if you are planning a kayak trip on the Weeki Wachee River with your own kayak or with rented equipment
Once our renovations are completed in the summer of 2019, the park will be back in full swing. We hope to see you then or before if you are in the area!
