Briefly describe your job in the military.

I was a Military Police, duties while stateside was conducting law enforcement. While overseas, duties consisted of mainly building, clearing and convoy escorts.

Which bureau, office, park or trail do you work for now?

Highlands Hammock State Park.

Describe your job in the park service? What are your favorite parts of your job?

I am currently an assistant park manager. The park manager and I co-manage the park and staff as well as the friends group and contractors. Our goal is to ensure that Highlands Hammock State Park is the best state park in the Florida Park Service.

How did your service in the military prepare you for working for the Florida Park Service?

The military prepared me for working with Florida Park Service by teaching me how to lead and work as a team to complete the same goal as one another. It also helped me to realize that there are several ways to convey the same message, and that is needed to communicate with different people. I also believe the military helped to teach me that.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue a career in the Florida Park Service?

I would tell someone that is looking to pursue a career on the Florida Park Service that it is a very rewarding job and a good way to get your foot in the door is by becoming a volunteer.
