Andy Kilmer, Environmental Specialist
Andy is dedicated, resourceful and always puts the resources first.
Andy Kilmer has been with the Florida Park Service for seven years. He joined the Crystal River team in 2022, and before that was a Park Ranger at Silver Springs State Park.
In his role as Environmental Specialist, Andy says his favorite thing about his job is the opportunity to serve as a diligent steward of public lands.
Andy's daily responsibilities include planning and implementing resource management activities, such as conducting prescribed fires and removing nonnative plants and animals. Andy likes to join in on interpretive hikes along 7-Mile Loop Trail, especially in wildflower season! Andy has routinely assisted with “Strike Teams” which assist with recovery efforts after Hurricanes or other disasters.
His profound love of nature and its "endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful" inspired him to work for the Florida Park Service.
In his spare time Andy enjoys indulging his culinary skills, exploring the great outdoors and playing fun board games.
Andy’s peers describe him as dedicated, resourceful and always putting the resources first! Andy is our “go to” for plant and animal identification! Andy is a wonderful steward of our lands and truly takes pride in preserving, interpreting and restoring natural and cultural resources!
