Volunteer Spotlight, Bob Love

Bob Love

Bob is honored to give back as a park volunteer and to help others appreciate and love Florida’s state parks, the real “outdoors,” that he experienced while growing up barefoot in the summertime in a small town in Alabama. What he feels as most rewarding is seeing visitors enjoying activities like hiking the trails, fishing from the pier or just walking among the trees to savor nature’s beauty and serenity.

Volunteer time is generally spent assisting the Park Ranger, Billy Harrison in managing the park so that visitors will enjoy the natural beauty, but it has also been rewarding to help repair hurricane damage and get the park running again.

As a retiree, Bob Love continues to discover life away from the city, and volunteering allows him to give back to the community.
