Francis Folkers has received the 2020 Short-Term Project Award for Natural Resources. She surveyed each zone of Oscar Scherer State Park for invasive plant species, planted longleaf pines and taught others how to use new software.

Chris Crowell and other volunteers created the Explore Wekiwa mobile app to help park visitors navigate the trails of Wekiwa Springs State Park and learn about park resources.

Volunteers at Highlands Hammock have received the Long-Term Project Award for Cultural Resources. They restored the historic orange grove at the park.

Steve Uglinica has received the Citizen Support Organization Award for Resource-Based Recreation for his work with the Friends of Oscar Scherer State Park.

Savannah Lebedeker has received the 2020 Youth Volunteer of the Year Award for Visitor Services. After attending summer camp at John D. MacArthur Beach State Park as a young child, she became a counselor-in-training. Since then, she has been applying her passion and talent to the program at every turn.

Sophia Howard has won the 2020 Youth Volunteer of the Year Award for Maintenance. She is eager to take on tasks and learn the ropes, and she asks for help when needed. Her ability to work independently helps the park run smoothly on busy summer days.

Nutrien has received the 2020 Volunteer of the Year Award for Corporate. Nutrien and its employees support Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park and the citizens support group by sponsoring restoration projects and volunteering at special events.

Mike Petellat has received the 2020 Volunteer of the Year Award for Resource Management. Since he began volunteering at Crystal River Archaeological State Park in 2014, Mike has contributed more than 3,700 hours researching the area, leading interpretive tours and helping with projects.

Pam Reed has received the 2020 Volunteer of the Year Award for Protection. She organizes and leads the River Patrol program at Silver Springs State Park, helping visitors enjoy a safe paddling experience on the river.

Daniel Cleary has received the 2020 Volunteer of the Year Award for Maintenance. He has volunteered at Lake Louisa State Park and General James A. Van Fleet State Trail for many years. Dan enjoys woodworking, mowing and trimming trails.
