Gopher Tortoises at Koreshan
Koreshan State Park is home to several native and non-native species, but what you will most often see at our park are gopher tortoises. These tortoises have an important role in Florida ecosystems.
Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers contribute more than a million hours per year to the success of Florida State Parks. Are you interested in becoming a campground host or resident volunteer? Responsibilities include greeting campers, answering questions and maintaining the campground in exchange for free a campsite.
Cape Florida Cleanup
Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is known for its beautiful beaches and scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean beneath the park’s trademark lighthouse. The park regularly hosts beach cleanups, relying on the dedication of hundreds of volunteers each month.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas lived here from 1925 until her death in 1998. Douglas wrote about listening to birds and being inspired by the trees and greenery that surrounded her. She used her cottage as inspiration.
