Blackwater Heritage State Trail, the westernmost state rail-trail, winds through the historic town of Milton and extends 8.1 miles north to join the U.S. Navy's 1.5-mile Military Heritage Trail, which ends at the Naval Air Station Whiting Field.

An unexpected oasis surrounded by busy urban areas provides visitors with a refreshing escape into natural Florida. This hidden gem is also a refuge for the imperiled Florida scrub-jay, bald eagles and other birds that nest along the shores of Lake Osprey.
