Description

BG Oleta River Outdoor Center is the official concession operator for Oleta River State Park, Florida’s largest urban park. Oleta River State Park is located on Biscayne Bay in the busy Miami metropolitan area. Although it offers a variety of recreational opportunities, the park is best known for miles of off-road bicycling trails, ranging from novice trails to challenging trails for experienced bicyclists.

BG Oleta River Outdoor Center will close at 6 p.m. on May 8, 2019.

Bike Trails

Oleta River State Park currently has over 10 miles of challenging, intermediate mountain bike trails. For the beginner, there are over 4 miles of novice trails and 3 miles of paved trail. The paved trail also offers great conditions for roller blading.  Helmets are highly recommended for all cyclists and Florida law requires helmets for cyclists age 16 and under.

Canoeing and Kayaking

Canoeing and kayaking is available at the park. Visitors enjoy paddling on the calm waters of Biscayne Bay adjacent from the Haulover Inlet. Several routes to choose from consist of open water and mangrove trails and the Oleta River.

Weddings

Imagine saying your “I do’s” on the beach as the waves come ashore at Oleta River State Park. Soon-to-be newlyweds are welcome to reserve their spot on the beach and may also choose to reserve one of the park’s pavilions for the reception for an additional fee.  All Wedding and Pavilion reservations must be made in advance in person or by calling (954) 929-4970.

Eat at the Blue Marlin Fish House

The Historic Blue Marlin Fish House is located on the site of the original Blue Marlin Smoke House, circa 1938, owned by the Diefenbach family. Back then it was a smokehouse and a trading post where fishing captains could dock their boats and barter their catch.
