There is one paddle/boat-in primitive campsite available on Chaires Creek. For reservations, please call the park at 850-349-9146 or Ochlockonee River State Park at 850-962-2771.

Fishing
Fishing

At Bald Point’s North End and Sunrise entrances, surf fishing and wading out to oyster bars are popular activities.

There is also a small fishing pier, with mobi-mat access, located in the park where Bald Point Road terminates at Ochlockonee Bay. This is located in the area known as the North End Entrance. Among the varieties of saltwater fish found in the brackish tidal waterway are redfish, trout, flounder and mackerel.

Visitors can fish on the bridge over tidal Chaires Creek off Range Road, and in Tucker Lake by canoe or kayak. Sea trout, red fish, flounder and sheepshead are common catches. This is also an excellent area to cast net for mullet or to catch blue crabs.

All fishing within the park must conform to regulations concerning size, number, method of capture and season. A fishing license may be required. More information is available at the Florida Wildlife Commission’s Fishing in Florida.

Experienced Geocachers have requested permission to hide caches containing trinkets, treasures, or information in various places around the park. Please check the Geocaching website for the most up-to-date information and clues to locate these caches.
