Blackwater Heritage State Trail, the westernmost state rail-trail, winds through the historic town of Milton and extends 8.1 miles north to join the U.S. Navy's 1.5-mile Military Heritage Trail, which ends at the Naval Air Station Whiting Field.

Through the early 1900s, this historic railroad corridor carried cotton from the plantation belt to the coast for shipment to textile mills in England and New England. The trail runs 16 miles from Florida's capital city to the coastal community of St. Marks.

At 47 miles, the Withlacoochee State Trail is one of the longest paved rail-trails in Florida. A flat, paved hiking and biking trail travels through small towns, agricultural lands and unique habitats.
