Curry Hammock State Park Participates in the 3rd Annual I.CARE Trash Derby.

Curry Hammock State Park recently took part in the 3rd Annual I.CARE Trash Derby, an impactful environmental event held throughout the Florida Keys. This community-focused initiative brings together individuals and organizations committed to preserving the region’s natural beauty through organized cleanups and education.

Our Resident Volunteers, Roy and Lori Spreng, played a vital role in the park’s involvement this year. As current campground hosts and recent additions to the Curry Hammock volunteer team, Roy and Lori went above and beyond in their support. They not only assisted with event setup, but also managed the Curry Hammock booth, helping to coordinate efforts and engage local volunteers throughout the day.

Since joining the team, Roy and Lori have made a meaningful impact on the park community. From greeting guests with warm hospitality to performing routine maintenance on park equipment and facilities, their contributions help keep Curry Hammock running smoothly. They also actively participate in staff and volunteer gatherings, strengthening the sense of community that makes our park so special.

We are proud to recognize Roy and Lori for their dedication and thank them for representing Curry Hammock State Park with such enthusiasm and care during the I.CARE Trash Derby.
