STAFF SPOTLIGHT, YANQUIEL LORENZO

Yanquiel Lorenzo started his career in the park service in 2024 as a Park Ranger here at Seabranch and St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Parks. Prior to working for the Park Service, Yanquiel attended the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation.

In his first year as a Park Ranger, Yanquiel has taken multiple opportunities to learn what a park ranger does and has become a well-rounded, reliable ranger.

He is known as “the man” among his peers and is also described as supportive, fun and naturally gifted. His favorite part of his job is speaking to the public about the importance of maintaining our natural landscapes.

In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking and spending time with his family.
