Jon Beard, Park Ranger
A native of Central Florida, Jon Beard is a passionate wildlife enthusiast with a deep appreciation for the outdoors. After serving 10 years on active duty and continuing in the Reserves, Jon has built a distinguished 20-year career in the U.S. Navy. As an Aircrewman, he played critical roles in missions across Iraq, Afghanistan and the Horn of Africa.
An avid fisherman, hunter and conservationist, Jon enjoys exploring Florida's natural beauty with his wife, Catherine, and their three daughters. Together, they live in the heart of horse country, embracing the outdoor lifestyle.
He joined the Rainbow Springs team in 2023 and has since made valuable contributions across multiple areas, including visitor services, park protection, administration, maintenance and resource management. His key strengths include exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to handle diverse situations, a thorough knowledge of park regulations and natural resources and a strong commitment to conservation and visitor safety.
Jon looks forward to continuing his service to the community through his work at Rainbow Springs, collaborating with volunteers and staff to protect and enhance one of Florida’s most treasured state parks.
