He calls his job at Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park a kind of summation, it is where bits and pieces of his life come together.
Geoff was born and raised on a small farm outside Holland Patent, New York. He received a degree in history from Syracuse University before traveling through Mexico and having various jobs that gave him knowledge that he uses today.
Geoff came to Cross Creek to write his book and became a neighbor to Rawlings Park. Over the course of several years the varying parts of his life would gradually come together to bring him to be first a volunteer then a full time park ranger. Geoff is a walking encyclopedia of all things Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, his knowledge of the park makes him an often consulted resource. Geoff’s gardening skills often produce impressive gardens that honor Marjorie’s legacy and his passionate interpretive tours are long-remembered and valued.
