An exceptional resource for cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts, Palatka-to-St. Augustine State Trail offers a scenic 19-mile journey through North Florida's natural beauty and charming small towns. Following a former rail corridor, this paved trail roughly follows State Road 207, connecting historic St. Augustine and Palatka, with stops in welcoming communities of Elkton, Armstrong, Hastings and East Palatka.

Originally part of a Rails-to-Trails initiative, this route features views of mixed woodlands and rural farmland, creating a peaceful, picturesque backdrop for any ride, walk or run. Along the way, communities such as Hastings and Palatka, a Florida Trail Town, offer convenient amenities and a selection of local restaurants perfect for refueling during your trail adventure.

For those seeking a longer trek, this trail connects with the Palatka-to-Lake Butler State Trail, extending your ride by an additional 47 miles westward, from just beyond U.S. Highway 17 in Palatka to State Road 238 in Lake Butler.

Additionally, the Palatka-to-St. Augustine State Trail is part of the St. Johns River to Sea Loop, a 260-mile multi-use trail system in development, poised to become the longest loop trail through the southeastern United States.

Hope to see you on the Trail!
