With the park open for day-use and camping, it's great to see visitors enjoying the park again.

Even though we are not currently offering any programming, I want to share one of my favorite things to do in the park as we move into the fall season. With a hint of fall in the morning and evenings, I suggest getting out on any of our 15 miles of trails. Each trail offers new encounters with wildlife, both plant and animal. I consider fall to be our second spring in the park. Many grasses and flowering plants are doing just that. Such a splendor to see them sway in the wind with a hint of dew or changing sky.

Several pairs of our nesting eagles are back for the season, busy getting reacquainted with each other. It's always a pleasure watching them soar overhead. Florida scrub-jays are doing well with 27 to count, double the number we had just four years ago.

We hope you come spend some time connecting in nature with us. We will be ready for your visit.
