Activities at Terra Ceia

Terra Ceia is a small park that offers a variety of activities for your outdoor recreation pleasure. The park offers some of the best kayaking in the Tampa Bay area.

The waterways wind through thick mangrove forests, creating tunnels where your kayak can glide under their outstretched limbs. Freshwater and saltwater make up this park, meaning that there is an array of fish in the waters. Cast a line in the tea-colored waters and hook your catch of the day!

The park also has nine miles of trails which are perfect for birding and other wildlife viewing. Native and migrating birds take shelter in the lush forests. You may see little blue herons, white ibis, or even a bald eagle soaring above you.

As you explore the wetlands and upland communities, stop and take in this piece of undeveloped Florida. The preserve is the site of a major habitat restoration project, which intends to restore it back to its previous ecologically diverse state. You can’t help but appreciate the landscape and everything within knowing what a major part this stretch of land plays in the environment.

Come see it all for yourself with a visit to Terra Ceia Preserve State Park!
