Shannon Davis

Hillsborough River State Park

Shannon Davis grew up in the small town of Hyde Park, Vermont. She recently moved to Florida for a change in environment, but also for the warmer climate. As a volunteer, she is interested in continuing to learn about Florida’s wildlife, and truly enjoys giving back to the community. She has been volunteering in parks since she was 17, and has always loved being outdoors. What she loves most are the animals, hiking through nature, kayaking and sharing her love of the outdoors with other people.

A former camp host, Shannon has many abilities in her role as a volunteer. Most recently she can be found doing maintenance around the park. This includes fixing broken items, helping campers, maintaining the facilities, and generally being there to lend a helping hand in any situation.  She chose to volunteer at Hillsborough River State Park because she feels this park has so much to offer to guests and she loves seeing a smile on a visitor’s face.

Being so far from home, Shannon really appreciates the family that she has found at Hillsborough River. She is always excited to learn new things from her fellow volunteers and staff, and jumps at any opportunity to do so. Like the sunshine in the summer, Shannon feels that the park is a warm and bright place to be.
