Volunteer Spotlight, Winter Season

Winter Volunteers

Each winter season, Collier-Seminole's volunteers, both local and resident, team up to finish scheduled park projects, repair summer storm damage or take part in resource management activities.

Some projects included the finishing of a new shed that is effectively being used as a temporary ranger station. It's even equipped with electricity and air conditioning!

Volunteers applied fresh coats of paint/stain to park residences, the Blockhouse and the Screened Room.

They assembled new furnishings for the new ranger station shed. Buildings and sidewalks were pressure washed, resident sheds repaired and a staff residence deck w/ramp constructed.

Volunteers assisted our administrative assistant with reassigning camping reservations because of projected campsite pedestal upgrades.

As the seasons change, so must our resident volunteers. We look forward to the return of our winter volunteer team later this December and the prospect for a successful 2025 summer season moving ahead.
