Little Manatee River State Park is lucky to have dedicated volunteers like Kate and Carl Horrocks. Hailing from Rhode Island and currently residing in Maine, they have spent multiple winter seasons giving their time and talents to the park.
Kate works in the ranger station, where her enthusiasm and dedication shine through in everything she does. She embodies the heart and soul of the park's mission, always greeting visitors with warmth and a passion for nature.
Carl is a key player in field maintenance, taking care of everything from picnic areas and buildings to bridges and beyond. No matter the project, he puts his whole heart into ensuring the park remains a beautiful, safe, and welcoming space for all.
Beyond their volunteer work, Kate and Carl have a thriving photography business back home and are proud parents of 5 children and 2 grandchildren. They love exploring new places, spending time with friends and family, and making the most of life's adventures.
Kate and Carl's hard work and positive energy are a huge part of what makes Little Manatee Great. We are grateful for their dedication and the joy they bring to our community!
