Sunny Clark, Park Ranger
In January 2022, Sunny officially became part of the Colt Creek team.
She has been a Florida resident since the summer of 1999 and began volunteering at Colt Creek in 2021 as the photographer for Friends of Colt Creek. In January 2022, she officially became part of the Colt Creek team. Her primary goal in working with the Florida State Park System is to contribute to the preservation and management of natural resources, with a focus on participating in essential activities such as prescribed fire, habitat restoration, and wildlife conservation. She also aims to educate and raise awareness among the public about the importance of maintaining these ecosystems for future generations. Colt Creek offers a variety of programs, and she particularly enjoys teaching photography classes and leading the Swamp Walks, where she can share her passion for the park's unique environments. The park contains several different habitats, but her favorites are the Pine Flatwoods and Cypress Domes, which offer stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity. She is also deeply fascinated by the birdlife there, which shifts with the seasons as migratory species arrive and depart, providing a dynamic and ever-changing experience for park visitors.
