Hatch Wefing, Park Ranger

Take a step back in time with Ranger Hatch Wefing at the Orman House in Apalachicola Florida. The Orman House was originally built in 1838 by Thomas Orman, a successful businessman and cotton merchant in Apalachicola. His family inhabited the house for over 165 years.

Hatch is a native of Apalachicola.  He has an extensive knowledge of Apalachicola and Franklin County history and local folklore. His great-great grandfather was the sole owner of nearby St. Vincent Island. His is the only grave on the island today.

When you are in the Apalachicola area, stop by the Orman House and take a tour with Ranger Hatch.  Also, enjoy a walk around the Chapman Gardens and the Three Service Men statue all located at the Orman House State Park.
