Staff Spotlight, Darby White
As a boy scout, Darby learned to enjoy and respect nature. Today, he puts both to good use as a park ranger.
Darby was born in southern Indiana and moved to Dunnellon, Florida at a young age.
As a boy scout, he hiked and camped around the state and learned to enjoy and respect nature. In 2018, his career began as a park ranger at Rainbow Springs State Park. He enjoys the history of the area and places around the springs.
In 2022, he joined the team at the Withlacoochee State Trail. Darby has participated in the prescribed burn program since 2019 and has helped to apply fire at many parks. He enjoys prescribed fire and seeing how fire-dependent native species respond to fire and thrive in natural Florida.
