Welcome to the Cross Florida Greenway, Florida’s “Superconnector” in its developing statewide and regional network of interconnected trails and ecological corridors. The greenway was established out of the ill-fated Cross Florida Ship and Barge Canal projects to protect and preserve the extensive and diverse habitats. It includes Great Depression era “diggings” and water control structures from the 1960s barge canal project.
