Mebane Cory-Ogden, Park Manager
Manatee Springs is so diverse. The beautiful spring run, where there is an abundance of aquatic wildlife and terrestrial beauty, must be one of my most favorite areas of the park. The clear spring water flows gently to the world-famous Suwannee River, where you may see resting manatees or even jumping sturgeon! It’s a magical place that will feed your spirit and bring you some needed down time away from the stresses of life.
Whether it’s sitting next to the campfire at one of our 80 campsites, canoeing or kayaking down the Suwannee River, or hiking our many trails, we have you covered. A wide variety of wildlife and wildflowers inhabit the park. As you tour the park, be prepared to snap a photo of the deer, red-tailed hawks and pileated woodpeckers along with the beautiful trees and plants.
If you are a scuba diver, we have multiple locations to dive depending on your level of certification. Proof of certification is required, and you must have a dive partner (no solo diving). Swimming is open year-round when the water is clear and calm.
Food is served at the concession building by the spring. This is also where you are able to rent kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards, a pontoon or book a guided tour on the Suwannee River. Please call 352-663-9960 or 352-493-1699 or visit Manatee-Fanning Aggregation Station for details and availability.
For whatever reason you come to Manatee Springs State Park, I know you will enjoy the memories you make while visiting here and you will want to return over and over to keep making them.
