Heath Alboher, Park Manager
At Fort Clinch State Park, often the hardest decision is where to walk.
I am able to walk through a historic canopy park drive with massive live oaks draped in Spanish moss, or the pristine beaches alongside ancient sand dunes gazing off into the horizon. Let's not forget the Saturday morning Willow Pond nature walk program. Here you can learn about the nature that makes this park a unique treasure for future generations to enjoy.
Be sure to visit historic Fort Clinch and the visitor center. The fort has living history interpreters on a daily basis that provide a valuable glimpse into our nation’s Civil War past. The visitor center provides a wide variety of educational material, refreshments, souvenirs, firewood and more!
I am proud that the park has worked hard to increase accessibility and improve services and programs. All of the bathhouse facilities and boardwalks are fully accessible. The park also offers a variety of wheelchairs, including beach wheelchairs and standard wheelchairs to access the fort facility. Please take the time to let us know of any improvements that can be made or even minor modifications that will help you fully enjoy your experience at Fort Clinch State Park.
Come out and enjoy the park. Our staff and volunteers are here to help you, and share in our enjoyment and passion, so you can experience the Real Florida.
