Kevin Patton, Park Manager

Thank you for your interest in Price's Scrub State Park. This is a great time to explore the park. With sunny days and warm nights, you and your family can immerse yourselves in ...the Real Florida.

Price's Scrub is a 962-acre property protected through the Florida Forever program in 2002. A key part of the proposed Northwest Marion Greenway, Price's Scrub provides for wildlife habitat linkage between Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park to the northeast and Goethe State Forest to the southwest.

Price's Scrub includes 15 natural communities, notably scrubby flatwoods, mesic flatwoods, wet flatwoods, scrub, baygall and upland mixed woodland in the south; and mesic hammock, upland hardwood forest, seepage stream, depression marshes and a sinkhole lake in the north.

The trail system here is extensive, and in the summer swallow-tailed kites may be spotted soaring overhead. When fall begins, keep an eye and ear out for the arrival of sharp-shinned hawks and Eastern phoebes. Trails in the south are sandy and open, while trails in the north are more shaded with rolling topography.

Price’s Scrub offers a little bit of something for everyone. Come on out and see for yourself!
