Friend Groups

We are grateful to our members, business partners and collaborators for their support in education and outreach—a vehicle for opening minds. We know by this concerted effort our parks and history will be protected for generations to come, and for that, we will always be grateful.

The Citizens for the St. Sebastian Preserve is recognized by the Florida Park Service as the citizen support organization for the St. Sebastian River Preserve and Indian River Lagoon Preserve state parks in Fellsmere, Florida.

Best known for planning and coordinating the annual reenactment of Dade's Battle of 1835, the Dade Battlefield Society has been the citizen support organization for the park since its founding in 1987.

In coordination with and support of the Florida Park Service, the Florida State Parks Foundation provides education, communication and support services to local citizen support organizations to ensure the sustainability, protection, restoration and interpretation of the system of Florida State Parks.

Fort Mose Historical Society: African American Community of Freedom is the citizens support organization for Fort Mose Historic State Park.

The friends group assists employees in protecting the park for the enjoyment of future generations and educate the public about the natural and cultural resources of Anastasia State Park.

Volunteers are needed for environmental work, membership drives, and special events that bring information about our favorite island to the public. 

Friends of Bahia Honda State Park is a nonprofit corporation that generates and employs additional resources and support for the park.

Generates additional resources through special work projects, events and programs, community outreach, educational activities, guided tours and communications, interpretive programs, fundraising activities, the purchase of new equipment and supplies, and by providing assistance to the park staff as needed.

Serving as the Citizen Support Organization for the Blackwater Heritage State Trail, the Blackwater Heritage Trail provides support to the State Trail promoting events and activities that generate and foster use of the trail.

The Friends of Blue Spring is a citizen support organization providing support to Blue Spring State Park by volunteering, educating visitors, hosting events and raising funds for specific park projects.

The Friends of Camp Helen State Park is a citizen support organization dedicated to preserving, maintaining and improving the park through volunteer projects, community events and fundraising.

The Friends of Cape Florida State Park Inc. is a 501(c)(3) corporation established in 2000 to support the park and to help conserve and enhance the wildlife and other resources of Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park.

The mission of Friends of Cayo Costa State Park is to preserve, protect and promote the unique unspoiled natural beauty and heritage for future generations.

The Friends of Collier-Seminole State Park is a not-for-profit citizen support organization that helps promote the park in a variety of ways.

The mission of the Friends of Colt Creek State Park is to enhance the use and enjoyment of the park for the people of Florida and its visitors.
