Join us at Gold Head Branch State Park for a ranger-led headlamp hike. As we traverse into the depths of the steephead ravine system and emerge back up into the sandhill we will explore some of the smaller stars of the park- arthropods! Fireflies, scorpions, and spiders are the highlight of the show, so please come prepared with a red light flashlight if you have one so we can minimize any disturbance to the wildlife.
Be prepared to hike approximately 1.5 miles in low lighting and uneven terrain, as well as traversing 80 stairs. Please leave the pets home for this event. Closed toed shoes are highly recommended. Please anticipate warm temperatures and insects such as ticks, mosquitos, etc. Reusable water bottle or hydration packs highly advised.
