Description
Held each year across Earth Day and Arbor Day, the "Run for the Trees: Happy Little (Virtual) 5K" encourages registered participants to complete a 5K in Florida's award-winning state parks. Registration is completed online only at floridastateparksfoundation.org. A portion of each registration fee directly supports the Florida State Parks Foundation’s Plant a Pine program. Registration closes April 1st to receive a commemorative t-shirt, racing bib, and finisher's medal by mail. Non-registered participants can still join in for the hike, but no day-of registration will be available. This 5K route is not pet friendly as a portion of the route is on the beach. Bring a water bottle and appropriate footwear for walking beach sand, pavement, and trails during the 3.1 mile hike. Questions email: Hannah.Pridgeon@FloridaDEP.gov
