Meeting at the Ranger Station at the entrance of the state park

Entry fees are waived for volunteers
Description
Please join us and the Apalachicola River keepers for a fun filled day at the annual coastal cleanup event. This event benefits our one of kind beaches while protecting threated species and reducing the negative impact on local ecosystems. St. George Island hosts a variety of unique natural communities, nesting sea turtles and shorebirds that rely on the pristine habitats found here on the island. This coastal clean up will consist of picking up litter along the coastlines. All ages are welcome to join our community and be a part of protecting the Real Florida. We will start the day off at the ranger station to have a quick meeting and go over the days itinerary before breaking into our small groups to go to our designated cleanup zones. Participants should expect maximum 3 hours on this event. Afterwards, participants are welcome to enjoy all that this state park has to offer.
