Girl Scouts Love State Parks

A ranger will lead a guided hike for about a mile to celebrate girl scouts love state parks. Hike will include using a map, basic hiking gear, and a litter pick up activity.

Fall In Love At Wekiwa: A Peaceful Book Reading Event

Visitors will bring a blanket and a book they are currently reading to the park and enjoy a peaceful morning reading with others in a natural environment.

National Public Lands Day: Clean Up House At Wekiwa Springs

Spend National Public Lands Day at Wekiwa Springs State Park. Join other volunteers and remove litter from the trails. Event will start at 9 am until noon. You will be provided gloves, pickers, and buckets, to clean our home and protect all who live in it. Please bring sun protection, a refillable water bottle, closed toed shoes, and long pants. Disfrute el Día Nacional de las Tierras Públicas en el Parque Estatal Wekiwa Springs. Juntos, con otros voluntarios, retire la basura de los senderos. El evento comenzará a las 9:00 y durará hasta mediodía. El parque tendrá guantes, recogedores y cubetas para limpiar nuestra casa y proteger a todos sus habitantes. Beach And Estuary Walk

Join a park ranger for a leisurely walk over the estuary and along the beach to discover the natural treasures of the Lovers Key shoreline. Learn about seashells, crustaceans, starfish, and other creatures that can be found in our waters. Participants should be prepared to spend time in the water.

Shorebird Stroll

Join a park ranger on a guided walk down the shoreline and discover some of the birds that call the beach here at Lovers Key home. Learn helpful tips about how to identify these challenging birds while learning their diet, behavior and nesting habits. We recommend bringing binoculars or spotting scope.

Walk On The Wild Side

Join a park ranger for a guided hike along our Black Island Trail. Learn about the fascinating vegetation and wildlife that reside in our maritime hammock ecosystem, explore our native butterfly garden, and enjoy a little local history along the way. Closed-toe shoes, bug spray, and water bottles are highly recommended.

Junior Ranger Program

Join a park ranger for a Junior Ranger educational program and accompanying activity to explore the four components of the Junior Ranger program: natural resources, cultural resources, recreation, and service. Participants will be eligible for Junior Ranger passport stamps with the successful completion of each component.
Space is limited; reservations are required.
