Spanish American War Garrison Day 1

Fort Clinch served as a military post for several conflicts in history – one of these was the Spanish American War. Come by and learn what being in the military in the 1890s was like, what kind of weapons were used and why a fort in northern Florida was important to the defense of a nation at war with Spain. There will be layouts of equipment, drill demonstrations and more.

Candlelight Tour

Fort Clinch takes on a whole new appearance at night, lit only by candles and lanterns. Join your tour guide as they walk you around the fort without the use of electric lights of any kind and see what the soldiers could see from the walls of the fort. 

Reservations can be made a week in advance and there is an additional charge of $3.00 for the tour. Call the Visitor Center at 904-277-7221 to sign up. Reservations required.
