Project Wild For Kids

Get out in nature with your students at Dade Battlefield Historic State Park each month in an immersive educational experience utilizing both indoor and outdoor activities teaching nature's mysteries in a fun engaging way. This month we will use curricula from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Project and Aquatic WILD. Girl Scouts Love State Parks

We are proud to host the annual Girl Scouts Love State Parks, a weekend dedicated to showcasing the stunning beauty of state parks and Girl Scouts passion for exploring the great outdoors. Girl scouts and their families, friends, and community members are welcome to join in the fun. Meet in-front of the Lodge.

Swift Night Out

During Swift Night out people all over the country stand beneath chimneys to watch and count chimney swifts entering their roost. The Lodge at Wakulla Springs has a large flock that roosts in one of the chimneys. Come witness the "flying cigar" shaped birds perform their swirling ariel dance prior to their descent into the chimney. Be part of a nationwide program to estimate their numbers. Enjoy this unusual biologist and environmental scientist led program to see first-hand one of nature's amazing spectacles. Meet in the Lodge courtyard and bring your own chairs.

Rural Folklife Day

Demonstrators will be on hand showcasing Florida traditions of yesterday and today during this event.

Rural Folklife Days celebrates the region's rural past with demonstrations and hands-on learning activities. Visitors can taste jellies, play traditional games, churn butter, sing songs, square dancing, quilt on a frame, assist a blacksmith, learn about lye soap, watch demonstrations and learn to fish!

This event is a long-standing tradition at the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park, for decades' students have enjoyed field trips to the park to experience this event. Schools and home school groups are encouraged to attend this event and pre-register! Contact the park for more information. Groups that do pre-register get into the Florida Folk Festival Education Day in May free! Teacher and bus driver admitted free with pre-registration.

Secret Lives Of Snakes

Meet our snake ambassadors, learn about their habits and habitats every 2nd Sunday of the month in the amphitheater. This program is good for all ages. Free with Park Admission.

International Coastal Cleanup

MacArthur Beach is excited to host the International Coastal Cleanup in partnership with Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, which includes a removal of litter from our public spaces – neighborhoods, roadways, waterways, parks, and schools. You're invited to be a part of this local and global beach cleanup event! The cleanup will take place on our beach.
No pre-registration is required; just sign in when you come to the event. Free event t-shirts will be given out to early participants (first-come-first-served). Participants will get free entry into the park, please plan to meet at the amphitheater. This event also counts towards Park volunteer and student community service hours. See you there!

National Public Lands Day Shell Island Beach Clean-up

National Public Lands day is the largest single day volunteer event in the country. Everyone is invited to St. Andrews State Park to help pick up trash from Shell Island beaches for sea turtle nesting season. Registration will begin at 10 AM at the Spanish Ante and the park ferry docks.

Sunrise Paddle

The Sunrise Paddle offers participants a serene and immersive experience along the river, starting at dawn. This guided paddle will take guests on a journey from the North entrance launch to the Last Take Out, offering breathtaking views of the river in the early morning light. Watch for beavers, otters, birds, while enjoying nature's beauty as you paddle downriver.

Whether you're a morning person or just love the river, this is the perfect way to start your day on a high note (and a smooth paddle). Don't forget your camera—this is sunrise magic you'll want to remember!
