This event will include two guided walks: one along the Grove Trail speaking of the life found in the transitions between mangroves the rockland hammock and a historic fruit grove (at 9:30 AM), and one featuring the native plants in the Butterfly Garden and their importance to butterflies and other pollinators (at 10 AM).
Stop by the park's Visitor Center to chat with Ranger Rachael and learn about trees, Florida vegetation, and what you can do to help make your landscape a better home for wildlife.
Join a park ranger for an interactive fishing program! Learn how to tie knots, casting skills with a game of back yard bass, and fish identification, and then try the real thing on the docks. Fishing poles along with other supplies are available for kids to use free of charge. Supplies are limited; reserve yours by calling the ranger station at 863-696-1112. Participants are also welcome to bring their own fishing poles and equipment. For information, email Quinlan.Halpain@FloridaDEP.gov
