1876 Cow Camp

Step back into the year 1876 as you meander down the trail to the Cow Camp. At the end of the trail, you will find a Florida Cow Hunter in a frontier camp nestled under a picturesque oak hammock within the route of the cattle drive. The cow hunter will be tending the fire, making coffee, or tending to the cattle, until him and the other Cow Hunters have caught the cows in the area and moves to the next cow camp. Close toed shoes recommended. Dogs not allowed near cattle.

Interpretive Scrub Hike With Florida Master Naturalist

Park volunteer and Florida Master Naturalist Paul Strauss will lead a guided, interpretive hike of our Hawk's Bluff Trail. The hike is easy going, with frequent stops to elaborate on the natural history of key Florida plants found on the trail as well as the historical uses of the land and resources. The hike is approximately an hour and a half and covers 0.9 miles with parts over hills of soft sugar sand.

Guided Bird Walk

Come meet the birds at Anastasia State Park, proudly part of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail! Join a knowledgeable park volunteer for an informative walk on the beach, boardwalks, trails, and other areas. Participants will observe a diverse variety of seabirds, shorebirds, and wading birds. Open to all birding levels. Please dress for the weather and bring binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, and a field guide if you have one. Meet at the Island Beach Shop & Grill located at the end of the main park drive. *This event is weather permitting and subject to cancellation.
