What better way to celebrate the new year than stepping into nature? On New Year's Day, hundreds of free, guided hikes will be organized in all 50 states. We hope you will join us at Palm Beach County's only state park for this New Year's tradition.
Join us January 1, 2025 at 10am for a first day hike. The guided hike will be a 45 minute walk (1-mile round trip). Please wear protective shoes and bring water. We can't wait to celebrate 2025 with you!
Gold Head Branch State Park will have a First Day Hike that will be a self-guided journaling program that takes guests along the Ridge Trail and offers opportunities to journal their experience. Journals will be provided as supplies last. The trail is 1.1 miles one-way, so the total hike is about 2.2 miles through uneven terrain.
Musicians gather to play in remembrance of James Gamble Rogers IV, a renowned Florida folk singer and storyteller whom the park is named after. Acoustic instruments of all types are welcome. Meet other musicians, practice or just have fun listening! Join the group at the Gamble Jam pavilion.
Start the New Year off right! Walk with a ranger, and look out for our feathered friends. Yes, we will be birding! Hike the south side of the inlet, from the lagoon to the beach, approximately a mile walk. Pack water, insect repellent, proper footwear, binoculars and bird guides. Limited binoculars and birding guides available upon request.
Start the New Year in a State Park with a First Day Hike! Join one of our park rangers and take a guided hike through the beautiful natural settings of Tomoka State Park. Participants will learn about the park's history, wildlife and flora as they stroll.
The program will include a one-mile-long hike, occurring over one hour. Please bring water, sunscreen, insect repellent and wear sturdy shoes, as the trail includes uneven terrain.
Blackwater Heritage Trail is inviting all interested visitors to meet at the Equestrian parking lot at 5969 Munson Highway for a New Years hike in the fresh air. Invite your friends and family to join you as you walk, skate, ride or run along the trail. When you are done share your experience with everyone on Facebook! Don't forget: dress for the weather, wear closed toe shoes, bring a refillable water bottle and a camera/phone to share your experience!
Start the new year with a refreshing hike through a scenic state park! This first-of-the-year hike takes place along the Beech Magnolia and Bluffs Trail, and offers a chance to connect with nature, breathe in the crisp winter air, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. You will follow along with a park ranger as you learn about the history and ecology of the area along the trail. The hike is anticipated to last no more than an hour and will take you over uneven and sandy terrain. All ages are welcome to join.
This guided walk will last about one hour and take guests through one of the largest contiguous rockland hammocks still in existence to learn about this ecosystem's unique flora and fauna.
